Outstanding Contribution to the Aquatic and Recreation Industry Award
 
This Award is the highest recognition provided by the industry. This Award acknowledges the outstanding achievement and contribution made by an individual over their career to the Victorian Aquatic and Recreation Industry. This contribution can be made in either a paid or voluntary capacity.

Facility Management Award
 
There are two categories for this Award.
 
a.  All Year Aquatic and Recreation Facility
b.  Seasonal Aquatic and Recreation Facility
 
This Award recognises the use of effective management practices to improve the operation and continued development of a facility, leading to better community outcomes.
 
All types of facilities are encouraged to enter, as many are well run on limited resources, encompass a range of activities and are worthy of recognition.
 
  

 
Swim School Award
 
This Award recognises innovative and effective management practices to achieve excellence in swim school operations. The Award focuses on programming, human resources, customer service, risk management, community involvement and partnerships.
  

  
 
Health Club Award
 
This Award recognises innovative and effective management practices to achieve excellence in health club operations. The Award emphasises programming, human resources, customer service, risk management, business development, community involvement and effective partnerships.
  

 
 
Innovative Program Award
 
This Award recognises innovative facility based community recreation programs using aquatic or land based activities that are enhancing the wellbeing of the local community. The Award highlights increased opportunities for participation and supports behavioural change to a healthier lifestyle, or other health and social benefits.
  

 
Pool Lifeguard Award
 
This Award recognises excellence and commitment to lifeguarding, including customer service, knowledge and lifesaving skills, interpersonal and leadership ability, commitment to safety and overall contribution to the facility.
  

 
 
Most Valuable Employee Award
 
This Award recognises the outstanding contribution by an individual to the local community, the facility and industry through on-going achievement, effective relationships with staff and customers and commitment to excellence above that normally required for their position.
 
* This award is open to any staff member that works in an aquatic and recreation facility.
  

 
 
Group Exercise Instructor Award
 
This Award recognises the outstanding contribution by a group exercise instructor to the local community, the facility and industry through provision of high level customer service, knowledge, interpersonal and leadership skills and commitment to excellence.
 
* Please note that this Award category also includes Aqua Instructors
  

 
 
Duty Manager Award
 
This Award recognises a commitment to excellence including the provision of high level customer service, knowledge and skills relating to a duty manager’s responsibilities, interpersonal and leadership skills, commitment to safety and contribution to the overall management of the facility.
   

 
Gym Instructor / Personal Trainer Award
 
This Award recognises outstanding contribution by a gym instructor or personal trainer to the local community, the facility and industry through the delivery of customer service, knowledge, interpersonal and leadership skills and commitment to excellence.
  

 
Customer Service Officer Award
 
This Award recognises excellence and commitment to the facility including professional knowledge and skills relating to customer service, interpersonal and leadership ability, contribution to the facility and commitment to excellence.
  

  
Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Award
 
There are three categories for this Award:
  • Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
  • Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics
  • Teacher of People with a Disability
This Award recognises the outstanding contribution by an individual to the teaching of swimming and water safety, including teaching effectiveness, professional development, leadership and commitment to excellence
 
* Award recipeints for these categories will be automatically nominated as Victoria’s representatives for the AUSTSWIM National Awards.
      

 
Presenter Award
 
This Award recognises the outstanding contribution by an individual to the presenting of teacher of swimming and water safety training, including presenting effectiveness, professional development, leadership and commitment to excellence.
