Watch Around Water

The aquatic and recreation industry has expressed growing concerns regarding the general supervision of children by parents and guardians at public aquatic facilities.  To address this issue the ‘Watch Around Water’ program has been developed to educate the public about adequate supervision and to encourage parents and guardians to take on this responsibility when visiting a public aquatic facility.  We would like to invite all Victorian aquatic and recreation facilities to be part of this new initiative.

‘Watch around Water’ has been successfully implemented in facilities in Western Australia since 2005, has been introduced into South Australia, and was piloted in a select number of Victorian facilities last year.  Please visit www.aquaticsandrecreation.org.au/watcharoundwater_facilities to view feedback from some of the Victorian facilities who piloted this initiative, an overview of the support, along with a registration form to enrol.

Aquatics & Recreation Victoria (ARV) and Life Saving Victoria have joined to promote and deliver this initiative in Victoria with support from the State Government’s ‘Play it Safe by the Water’ campaign.
