Aquatics - October 2009

Increased confidence, the development of friendships, the learning of life skills and opportunities never thought possible have resulted from a unique program operating out of Melbourne's west.

Heidelberg Olympic Aquatic Centre will be hosting an AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety course specifically designed to cater for individuals that are unable to participate in aquatic activities where males are present.

VICSWIM is back for 2010, and looking better than ever… and there is a new addition to the team – 'Vic'.  Vic can be heard on 3AW and Star FM during October, and can be seen on Channel Ten, Southern Cross Ten and Channel Nine from November.

What a weekend – 300 ardent aquatic enthusiasts flexed their minds and their muscles at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on 19-20 September for ARV AquaSummit 2009, not only to enhance themselves, but the industry in the continuous pursuit of providing the community with ‘an asset for life’.

Fifteen aquatic and recreation facilities implemented the 'Watch Around Water' program during its introductory year in Victoria.  Aquatics & Recreation Victoria have now received a further 19 registrations from facilities throughout Victoria.
