2011 Victorian Aquatic & Recreation Awards

Victoria’s extensive aquatic and recreation industry came together for a special night of celebration at Crown Palladium on Friday 3 June 2011.

The night was a glittering success with the Premier of Victoria, The Hon Ted Baillieu thanking the industry for what it does for the community and urged everyone present to keep up the valuable and important work that they do.

It was a night where nearly 500 guests were able to acknowledge the extensive work that goes into looking after multi-million dollar community facilities, that employ thousands of people across the state. The evening recognised a range of key roles across the industry and new life members of Aquatics & Recreation Victoria.

The top facility management awards went to Oakleigh Recreation Centre (City of Monash) and the YMCA @ Macleod Recreation and Fitness Centre, a community partnership with Banyule City Council.

The award for Outstanding Contribution to the Aquatic and Recreation Industry was presented to Ms Jenni Maclean following several years of distinguished service in varying roles across the industry.

“It was a special night and a fantastic way for everyone to celebrate the valuable work that the industry does and its special influence on Victoria’s health and fitness, well being and community participation”, added ARV Chairman Mr Andrew Hocking.
